Job Description

This part-time clinical supervisor position is part of the Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab housed in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University and is responsible for overseeing clinical assessments for grant-funded clinical research studies. Responsibilities will include training and supervising graduate students administering diagnostic interviews (SCID, KSADS), stress interviews, and suicidality interviews; implementing safety protocols when suicidal thoughts and behaviors are endorsed by participants; overseeing mandated reporting requirements; and being on call to respond to safety alerts as needed. The clinical supervisor regularly reports progress to the lab director and lab manager and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, graduate students, and research staff. This is a part-time role (approximately 10 hours per week) with a flexible work schedule and most tasks can be completed remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise students and staff administering diagnostic, stress, and suicidality interviews to child, adolescent, and adult research participants 
  • Oversee lab implementation of safety protocols for responding to suicidal thoughts and behaviors and mandated reporting requirements

Supervisory Relationships

This position has supervisory responsibility over graduate student and staff interviewers.

Qualifications

  • A masters degree in a clinically oriented mental health discipline (e.g., social work, professional counseling, marriage and family counseling) is required.
  • A Ph.D. in clinical psychology is preferred.
  • Clinical experience with children and adolescents is required
  • Experience with semi-structured diagnostic interviews (e.g., SCID, KSADS, SITBI) is required.
  • Experience implementing safety protocols to respond to suicidal thoughts and behaviors is preferred.
  • Experience training and supervising others is preferred.
